Prof. Eric Vermetten, MD, PhD
Eric studied Medicine at the University of Maastricht and is currently Professor of Psychotrauma at the University of Leiden and ARQ National Psychotrauma Center. From 1991 onwards, he has been linked to several universities as a researcher, including Stanford University, Yale University and Emory University. In 2003, he finalized his dissertation on Posttraumatic Stress Disorders at the University of Utrecht. He is adjunct professor at New York University Medical Center. Prof. Vermetten has published over 200 papers and 30 chapters and edited 8 books on neuroscience and treatment of PTSD. Research interests include history, trauma and war, neuroscience and clinical care of trauma disorders, dissociation and PTSD. He is involved in novel treatment in use of psychedelics in treatment of complex PTSD.
